MOONLIGHT SONATA
Piano Sonata no.14
Beethoven’s MOONLIGHT SONATA is surely one of the most beautiful pieces ever written for the piano.
In 1832, five years after Beethoven’s death, Rellstab (the poet, and music critic) likened the effect of the first movement to that of moonlight shining upon Lake Lucerne, hence its name, but the lighter second movement and the tempestuous finale are also well worth listening to!
